THE BREATH

Breathing is the most important thing you do. You do it twenty thousand times a day — and most people have never been taught how or considered how to truly optimize it.

Breathwork gets attention for the big experiences. The ceremonies, the altered states, the moments of profound release. Those matter. But the breath is far more powerful as a moment-to-moment practice than it will ever be as an event. Restoring a natural, healthy breathing pattern gives you — and the people you work with — the ability to change your internal state in real time, in real life.

The breath is the most direct tool we have to influence the nervous system, shift sensory input to the brain, and participate in the construction of our own emotional experience. This is not metaphor. This is neuroscience. A deep, embodied understanding of the breath — how it shapes the nervous system, how it anchors presence — is the foundation of genuine facilitation and leadership. You cannot guide someone somewhere you haven’t been.

And then there are the deep dives. Full ceremonial breathwork opens the respiratory system completely, creates altered states, and offers a new relationship with old patterns and memories. When the insights from those experiences are integrated into how you breathe in every ordinary moment — that is where real transformation lives.

THE COLD

Cold strips you down to the raw truth of how you are and how you show up in life.

Almost no other stressor reveals your edge as honestly or completely. Fears and resistance show up loud and clear. That voice that says not yet, not today — the one that holds you back in everything you do and want to become. And when you learn to work with that voice in a kind, yet discerning and authoritative way, something shifts. And it changes everything.

Cold practiced outdoors deepens this further — reestablishing the connection to nature that modern life has quietly severed. But it is not to be approached carelessly. It demands respect, careful attention to individual nervous systems and physiology, and a facilitator who truly understands what they’re working with. The lightFORCE trains you to hold this work with the utmost intelligence and care.

THE PLANTS

Plants are the oldest medicine we have — and among the most misunderstood and most misused.

Consciousness has shifted rapidly, but facilitation hasn’t always kept pace. The result is big doses, high frequency, and not nearly enough integration. Profound experiences with nowhere to land. Openings without roots.

The lightFORCE approach is a direct response to this.

We start with the foundation — breath, cold, nervous system, embodiment. That takes a year. In year two, from a place of real groundedness, we begin weaving plants into ceremonial work — learning to hold safe, intentional containers and what it truly means to be present for someone in an altered state.

In year three, we go further. Deeper doses, deeper layers — but approached from the inside out. Not chasing the experience. Meeting what arrives with full presence, full responsibility, and the humility that only comes from having walked this path yourself.

Three phases. Each peels back the layers.

Each phase allows you to show up more embodied, more present, and more ready to serve.

PHASE ONE

FOUNDATION

Months 1–4

Before you guide anyone else, you go first. Blueprint 4.0 rebuilds or deepens your relationship with your own breath and body from the ground up. You assess your own patterns with expert support and begin to see clearly what you’re carrying, what’s not working, and what’s holding you back from truly showing up.

PHASE TWO

PROGRESSION

Months 4-8

Awakened Self Leadership 2.0 — rebuild and express more fully from the inside out. You begin working with others, sharing information, conducting breath assessments, and receiving real-world feedback. The inner work and outer practice deepen together.

PHASE THREE

TRANSFORMATION

Months 9–12 and beyond

The work becomes who you are. One-on-one breathwork and cold sessions. Group facilitation. Ceremonial space holding. Your authentic way of working emerges — not taught, but drawn out of your true essence. Not a copy of anyone else. Earned. Your third immersion is your certification.

You will breathe into deeper clarity. You will meet your fears in the cold and find out who you truly are. You will sit in ceremony and feel the land and community hold you in a way that no online module ever could. You will be seen by your cohort — the people walking this path alongside you who will remain your community for life.

Your third immersion is your certification. Not a test. A demonstration of who you’ve become. If you are showing up and still aren’t quite there, we will support you until you are — provided you are showing up fully.

Jeff Sorensen is the founder of breathARMY and the lightFORCE Academy, based in Revelstoke, British Columbia.

Common Questions

Do I need prior experience?

No formal certification required. A regular practice and familiarity with the modalities is highly encouraged — you should know what these practices feel like in your own body before guiding them in someone else’s.

Where are the immersions and what do they cost?

All immersions are in BC (Rock Creek and Revelstoke). Immersion costs typically run about $350 for venue/food. Free camping on-site for Revelstoke immersions. Accommodation options vary. Full details at onboarding.

How much time does this take?

Monthly calls, bi-monthly 1-on-1s, personal practice, exams, case studies, and four four-day immersions. Real life can coexist with this — but the program asks something real of you. That’s not a warning. That’s the point. People with full lives and families have navigated the program without issue. Your commitment is the condition.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. Monthly plans available with a down payment. Partial scholarships for those genuinely called and financially stretched — ask, we mean it.

What happens after I graduate?

We keep going. You become part of the extended family — the lightFORCE Collective. Bi-annual immersions, ongoing group calls, listing in the lightFORCE facilitator directory. For those going further, the plant medicine track and ongoing mentorship continues.
